Rhodiola rosea

A hardy “Sedum”-like perennial growing from large, fleshy roots. Glaucous foliage colour. Clump-forming habit. Deciduous. Terminal heads of yellow flowers appear in summer. Height to 30cm. Spread 20cm. The plant gets its name, (rosea) as the roots, which have medicinal uses, smell of roses when dried. Plant in a well-drained soil, in a sunny site.
